...a new name

So, I decided to change the title of my blog from "Adventures in Kiddieland" to what it is now. Why? Well, I actually received two comments (and I only have four followers) that my blog title sounded a bit child-pornographic. What the ---?

My sweet mom first pointed it out. I was actually surprised that she even thought about things like that. I kind of--well, yes I did--lashed out in anger at her for saying this. I yelled, "What do you mean it sounds like child pornography? That just sounds so appalling! I can't believe that you would say something like this! This blog is supposed to be about their adventures because they're kids in their own little world a.k.a kiddieland. Wow!"

So, later that night, I mentioned to Dave (my awesome yet practical husband) that "could you believe what my mom said about my blog title?"

In a quiet and sensible tone he said, "I agree with your mom. I never really liked the title either. You should rethink it. Besides, don't narrow the topics of your blog. It should be about more than just the kids. Talk about you too."

Ding, ding, ding. He was right. The title does sound a bit...you know. And, frankly I appreciated Dave for opening the margins of the blog.

It doesn't always have to be about the kids.
